Jasmine Pettis, MPH, IBCLC

Jasmine Pettis is the Executive Director of the California Breastfeeding Coalition (CBC), where she leads statewide initiatives to protect, promote, and support human milk feeding through policy, systems, and environmental change. A public health professional and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with over fifteen years of experience, Jasmine has advanced maternal and child health across clinical, research, and community settings including UCSF, Stanford, Highland Hospital, and WIC.

Under her leadership, the CBC secured the largest grant in its history—a multi-year breast cancer prevention initiative integrating lactation, environmental health, and chronic disease prevention. Jasmine continues to expand cross-sector partnerships linking breastfeeding to heart health, diabetes prevention, and climate resilience, reflecting her conviction that lactation is a cornerstone of lifelong wellness.

Jasmine is the author of Breastfeeding All Around the Bay, a children’s book published in 2020 with the aim of adding much-needed character diversity and breastfeeding to children’s literature. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health science with an emphasis on community outreach and education from California State University, Sacramento and a Master’s of Public Health from San José State University.
